Our Azores Bike Tour of São Miguel island is a multi sport adventure taking you back to the land of the ancient mariners.

We'll spend 7 nights hopping these Atlantic islands of staggering beauty once claimed to be the peaks of Atlantis. Bicycle, and foot are the modes of transport to make the most of the sea, hikes and beautiful cycling on offer.

Located between Lisbon and New York, the Azores Islands stand out as exotic flower gardens and Japanese cedars, hot springs and lakes within volcano craters.

Our route on the island of São Miguel, embraces cliffs along the coast as well as protected forest hills, providing challenging and very rewarding cycling!

You will explore a lush valley filled with fumaroles and natural mineral springs, tranquil beaches and picturesque fishing villages along the coast.

For centuries, sailors crossed half of the Atlantic to reach the Azores Islands, bringing wine, oranges and whale products to mainland Europe. They were an important center of trade between Europe, the Americas and India creating a rich cultural heritage. These islands unfold a complex combination of Portuguese traditions mixed with Flemish and French influences all visible throughout our trip.

More affordable, less crowded, and closer than Hawaii, the Azores offer a truly extraordinary ride through one of Europe’s last great island frontiers.
