Norseman Success

8/11/2009

An excerpt from a Norseman Xtreme 2009 Race Report by a team member.
"I entered the 2009 Norseman after completing Ironman Austria in 2007 and 2008 as I wanted to do a much faster Ironman time but I thought I may struggle to keep motivated through the training. So rather than pick a fast course for 2009 I thought I would be more motivated if I took a year of hard Ironman distance races then picked a fast easy course in 2010.

Well that was the plan and in May 2009 I started Ironman Lanzarote, supposedly one of the toughest races there is, although for me it was made a lot harder by having to do the 112 miles on a hire bike as the airline had lost my bike.

Ironman Lanzarote was tough, much tougher than Austria, but little did I know at the time that it was nothing, and I mean nothing compared to the Norseman..."
